David N. Degnan - Help Me Live

2014-11-07 0

Depressing myself over
What others see as nothing.
Wandering though my days,
Looking to better something..
Wishing I could just die,
To escape all the torment.
Seeking the joy I once had,
Wondering where it all went.

Still I continue to breathe,
Forward I march on.
Wondering what I’ve done
That now seems so wrong.
If one could only tell me
How to clean this mess,
To any fault or sin of my own,
I’d gladly confess.

To fix what is broken, I shall
Willingly follow any command.
Anything, even if it were to be
Blood would stains my hands.
Please, just tell me what to do,
Where to go, what to say.
For here, in my loneliness,
I cannot live and stay.

Now, kill me here! End
this miserable life.
Show me the deathly gleam of
The Grim Reaper’s scythe.
Or please help me to live happily,
Just another day more.
From that happy moment on,
I think I could find my way…
