RAJ NANDY - A Poet's Gift

2014-11-07 1

O my lovely dark-haired beauty
If you continue to love me still,
What gift can I give you,
I have no treasures to bequeath or will?

I love your doe-eyed glance,
From those timid, dark drawn lashes,
When daily morning those lovely flowers
For me you always bring,
And walk down the garden path,
Floating on a butterfly’s wing !

What gift should I give you my love
Except for the treasures within?
I offer you my poet’s heart,
And a poet’s love all true ;
These sacred riches have been kept,
All saved up just for you!
