Just as I soothed and healed you
All I needed was to talk to someone who would listen
I would never have taken too much time
Just an ear to whisper my fears
Just as I heard your whispered fears
All I needed was a friend to share a laugh and a smile
I guess I was wrong for everything is conditional
There is no unconditional
A laugh for laughter
A smile for each smile
A tear for each tear
But no friend for a friend
