I knew you from before this day, as strangers we met.
As you knew me in an instant... locked, somehow preset.
And as the day drew on, we became quite near;
How strange the need to question 'Dear? '.
Two silent hearts somehow aware;
Fragments of two dreamers, eager to share.
My head did lift to your sole soft word;
more felt in spirit rather than heard.
Oh the beauty of your eyes - the joy of your face...
This glory of God to gift our space!
Modest yet coy - Expansive as the sky!
Precious and frail, so innocently shy.
For all of the future and all of the past,
love has endured, forever to last.
Never to fear, nor have want to cry -
with whisper gentle and solace of sigh.
Stronger attractions cannot exist!
Two spirits as strangers in this Spring sun,
knowing that all which will be has already been done.
And the wonder of your smile, my world, 'doth persist.
