David N. Degnan - Rival Blades

2014-11-07 1

Written 6/9/07

Sharp,
Swift as a horse.
Thy blade
Cometh forth.
Malicious Demon,
Heroic Guard.
Clash, fighting
Thus far.

Tempered
By one another.
Each, he owes
His opposing brother.
Sunrise, sun sets
On each new day.
Leaving battle scars
In shadows’ wake.

Blade to blade,
Steel clash.
Each attempt
To surpass.
Both to prove
They are better.
No matter
Damage they weather.

Now,
A new threat has risen.
To Savior and Sinner,
The choice has been given.
Against tyranny, two fists
In the air, in defiance.
Rivals join
In alliance.

Evil lies
In defeat.
And cooperation
Plants a new seed.
Swords in sheaths,
Warriors tread.
Though rivalry
In friendship shan’t end.
