Patricia Gale - Simple and Country Made

2014-11-07 3

Summer colors home made and simple
The lush green of the grass
The pink lips from a smile of a little girl with dimples
A butterfly fluttering pass

The garden and yellow blossoms
Picturesque colors of roses bloom
One scurrying little possum
Trying to play dead to avoid his doom

Red wing black birds singing good morning
A cardinal’s crimson red feathers flying bye
A hawk sounding off its final warning
As it swoops down from the baby blue sky

Staring at white billowing clouds
Seeing the shape of a hand
Hearing a horse whinny out loud
The beauty of country side land

The early morning rise to fresh sugared brown coffee
Splash with a dot of vanilla cream
Sprinkled with caramel toffee
All simple and homemade and filled with a writer’s dream
