Ted Sheridan - Down At The Pub With Me Mates

2014-11-07 1

Having mutated into a beast with hairy palms
and fallen arches...Dr. Moreau beckoned me to join the others
For they too had long whiskers extending from cold noses
and their long teeth were stained red by the dye of bloody Mary...
Hunger and thirst controlled their emotions...It was only hunger
and the desire to eat your young before the age of two
that made us all kin in our kingdom by the sea...
To the outside world we were just savages...with no free will
But to the good Doctor we were his children
and he would lead us in activities like howling at the moon
or licking our private parts without guilt...he loved us and it showed
Nowhere else in the world could beasts like us
exist so cohesively within nature....
I would have no need to evolve.....I liked being a mutant
