Alison Cassidy - Goodbye Autumn

2014-11-07 2

Today is suddenly fiercely cold,
as if winter had nosed autumn out of its way.

The Van Gogh carpet under next door's elm
is thick and spongy after last night's rain.

On a barren branch, a single leaf
pirouettes like Pavlova.
