She wakes up
Grabs a cup of coffee
Tells herself everything is alright
She makes some food
Her hands touching ingredients
Ten wrinkled wands flavouring them with care
She watches a TV show
Age blesses her with a nap
Wind whispers her a story
In wich this woman would never feel sad
Reality calls her name
Of course it was a dream
She never knew a life without pain
Nothing is quite as it seems
Out of the window, the Sun says goodbye
'I'll come back tomorrow
to warm you and your life'
In a couple of hours Moon is there already
'For 81 years you see me in sky hanging
I'll always be here to remind you to be steady'
She's already feeling tired
Her back is very arched
The soul a long time bent
Knees are hurting
But she can still pretend
She stares at the living room
From her core a trace of gloom
Brought by the memory of a man
Saying 'I'm leaving' with a suitcase in his hand
Once again she swears it's fine
Back to routine
Every day and every night
She doesn't complain
It's already past midnight
What was that sound?
Where it's being played?
It seems to be a lullaby
It makes her feel safe
With a kiss and a pinch of faith
Time surrounds her with a cozy embrace
'You do not have to be scared
Of you I'll take care
And if your burdens you can't bear
Think of me and I'll be there'
Now she's trying to get some sleep
Praying to something she cannot see
Falls asleep, starts to dream
In wich shiny lights protect her skin
These lights are divine intervention
But maybe just a dream in her sceptical mind
Those lights are Gods and Goddesses
Preparing her soul for one more day in this life.
