Michael Gale - Why Do Fools Write Poems?

2014-11-07 0

(This poem was inspired by Ronald Stroman's 'Fools Write Poems Too.')

Why do fools write poems? ...
Because the biggest fool doesn't ever read them.

It takes courage to write your thoughts down on paper or screen...
It takes bigger of the biggest fools to tease them poets and say things that are mean.

Courage to chance seeming foolish to others who are out there...
Even more foolish to not know about or care about anyone or anywhere.

Courage of the brain and heart...
May consume those who care for their art.

Courage is basically my part...
Genius i'm not but yes i might even be smart.

A great poem inspires others to write by right.
