Ted Sheridan - We Held A Garage Sale And All They Wanted Was The Car

2014-11-07 1

The junk in the garage is substantial
stacks of crap and more crap
shit we once used or thought we needed
books we never read lay dormant
pictures of the dog that died years ago
bicycles with seats too small for expanded ass
cassette tapes and albums by the hundreds....
fishing rods and reels with lures and sharp hooks
something Fleetwood Mac ran out of....
hours of wasted labor are represented by the piles of crap
and now it all must go
Artificial Christmas trees complete with Hallmark ornaments
Giant Santa...plastic pumpkins....witches and goblins
fog machine....water skies...surfboards everything must go...
put it out in the yard....
Basketball....baseballs....baseball cards...football cards...
Dan Marino has thrown his last pass....$.50cents
Bottles and jars....glasses and pans....
Makes one wonder where this crap
comes from or how we acquired it in the first place
My wife looks at it all....and says to me
Someone had to have been smoking something....
and it must have been damn good....
