Butterflies In My Belly Forever - A long time ago

2014-11-07 10

Looking from visions of swingsets, mud puddles and roller skates
A time when life is supposed to be free.
When you are gone all day from sunrise to sunset.
And you can be anything you want to be...

Visions of fear and a man in my bed
Feeling the pressure between my legs.
Feeling the force..that feeling of dread.

Looking from visions of dinner on the table
The food is there like it is supposed to be..
Oh wait a minute, that is not me.
Hunger in my belly
There is nothing to eat.
Who am I kidding, did I imagine that feast?

Looking from visions of going to school
When you make memories and have friends.
Having sleep overs and going on dates,
Man these teenage years should be great!

Feel the isolation as you are further alone.
Noone wants you when you dont have a home.
When you look in the mirror and see a stranger,
When when home is where you find danger.
...

What happens with the hands of time?
Who was this child from so long ago?

I remember her laying on the floor..
saying 'God I can't take anymore'.

This child was me, from long ago.
This precious little child I used to know.
Oh how I comforted her and held her near and whispered softly...'you are safe now dear'.
Oh how I held her in my arms and promised to keep her safe from harm.
How I rejuvenated her life and spirit alike, I removed all the bad from her life. I showed her I believed in her in every way...I reminded her that tomorrow is a better day.
