.Pd. is here - Arrange Marriage is like solving a mystery (Second Innings)

2014-11-07 3

Second Innings - This is a collection of poems written for or from the point of view of an ageing person.
-

In our times, arranged marriage was the norm
Love marriages would certainly stir up a storm.
‘How unimaginable, this arranged marriage’-the youngsters quip;
But they never knew the joy in it.

Marrying and living with stranger
Is like solving a mystery-
You get to play Sherlock homes,
Or CID- closer home.
Usually relationship begins from hate
For your stinking fate. Then,
Hints about your spouse’s character
And clues about their habits
All get dropped in bits.
You then have to play it smart
Begin from the very start
Piece the hints together like a jigsaw.

Slowly things shall be revealed
And gradually the fun shall begin.
The stranger then becomes your best friend,
Eventually a soul mate.
If you both play it right,
Love will blossom
Wilted will be the initial hate.
Voila! You’ve solved a mystery
And like they say,
Rest is history! -
In creation.
