Second Innings - This is a collection of poems written for or from the point of view of an ageing person.
-

Toffees, toys and showering gifts
Oh, pampering has spoilt my grandkids.
My own kids were never this lucky
For then I had so much responsibility.
But now that my kids are settled
And they are the one’s that toil,
I can take it slow and enjoy my life.

But I need to make up
For the yearning to pamper
And for the lost time-
I can’t pamper my grown kids now,
But grandkids will be just fine.
‘Lucky brats’, these grandkids of mine!
