Uriah Hamilton - Darkly Seductive

2014-11-07 4

The world is darkly seductive,
Skirts sway with sexual promise
And then slip away down elusive boulevards
Or into perfumed hotel rooms
That bar my entrance.

A self-assured daughter
Of an exiled king
Whispers to me by roses
In the garden of a wealthy expatriate;
She kisses my cheek
And then sends me
Into the realm of oblivion.

I’m a solitary creature
With a camera mind,
Recording for eternity
Every feminine expression and wile
Which has led me into misery.

She drops her handkerchief purposely
And leaves it behind,
She turns around and smiles
As she notices me
Placing it delicately
Into my shirt pocket.

The universe has wicked plans
To pleasantly destroy a man,
And this is excruciatingly
The way it should be!
