Patricia Gale - Joyous Tear

2014-11-07 1

The color red the symbol of love
White for purity
Shades mixed together creating pink
The words combined meaning true love

A vase with two dozen long stemmed beauties
Adding tiger lilies to represent their passion
A gift of thoughtfulness to the one he admired
Tears of joyous sadness fell upon a single rose

For she knew in her heart
It could never be
His life so different
The miles would never meet

Capturing still beauty on paper
Pressing a single pink rose between her favorite love sonnets
Faded years but the memory lingered
Joyous tear now a deep sigh

She reflects on the withered rose
and turns the pages of paper memories
Knowing once in her life she had been loved
Even if just for a time
