they say there here to help
that I can trust them
but I know they are lying
I’ve heard it all before
these lies
they ask you to tell them how you feel
but you know you can’t
because you know what they’ll do
you’ve seen it all before
do they think I’m that stupid
I f I tell them the truth
they listen
they call FACS
then its off to the hospital
put me in a foster home
or maybe suicide watch
I’ve seen ti happen to others
so they ask you again
“How do you feel? Tell me about yourself”
Ha! I think
That sends my brain into overdrive
making up a story
saying I’m fine
say a little truth
and a lot of lies
makes for a good alibi
then they ask
“describe your self in 3 words”
I think “ suicidal, alone, unnoticed”
I say “smart, busy, responsible”
“Now explain to me why you said that”
I blabber on adding to my alibi
they just nod
just as they go to ask another question
I say, “well I really need to go were starting a new unit in my class and I don’t want to fall behind”
they say “OK, see you next week”
I think to my self If I don’t die first!
I say “OK”
and I walk away
