I live the cave life
Scribbling down hieroglyphics
Later to be found
By acetic monks
Of a new religious order
Not yet created.
I’m certain I’m fated
To remain in obscure mist
Contemplating godliness
And the rhythmic music
Of gently falling streams of tears.
Next lifetime,
I’ll paint secret code
In beautiful landscapes
Of urban failure and fear.
Someone saw me yesterday,
But I’m no longer there;
If you remove your eyes,
You will see me smiling forever
At a Buddhist shrine.
