C.R. Ebowski - Price of Friendship

2014-11-07 0

What is it you expect of me?
I take hold and squeeze your hand
To let you know you are not alone
I am standing beside you
When you feel like giving up
My shoulders are soaking wet
From the tears that you have cried
But still this is not enough
What is it you expect of me?
I have lied to the world
Just to keep your confidence
My ears still throb from the anger
That you need to vent
I’ve hidden all my pain
To shield you from any more
Is this still not enough?
What is it you expect of me?
Today I crumbled beneath your weight
Because I took all I could bare
Now you wonder why I am pieces
Being your friend has a price that I cannot pay.
