There was a girl who went to a therapist,
And he asked her if he was a good fit.
She didn’t know how to respond,
But she believed that he would listen,
So she pronounced that yes indeed it was.
She told him her stories, as he gazed in her eyes,
The anger and sadness would slowly pass from her eyes,
He would say “Ok”, cause he didn’t know what else to say,
After seeing the horror in her eyes.
He held her hand and wiped her tears,
As she told him how she had been betrayed,
He had big shoulders to share the burden,
He understood that it would be quite the quest,
To earn her trust in the end.
He got lost in her eyes, as he stared for an hour,
Thinking of the innocent things he could share.
He held her gently, offering his hand,
Always making it known that he would protect her.
He took her for walks down a sunny path,
Courting her with dandelion flowers,
As he told her how amazing she was.
She couldn’t believe it, when it finally did happened.
She finally trusted him like no other.
Until that final day would come,
When she needed him the most, she called him for help,
And he came to her aid in a flash.
She couldn’t believe what happened from then.
For the man she had trusted, only doubted her word,
And listened to a tale her abusers had spun.
Never giving a listen to what she had to say.
She pleaded with him, as he drove her away.
Doubting very the words that she had to say.
She couldn’t believe it, she never would have guessed it,
The man she trusted didn’t have any faith in her.
She stared into his eyes, as tears ran down her cheek,
As he left her there like an animal in a cage.
