Pam Thomas - Fairy Tale Love

The sweetness of your lips, the caress of your hands upon my skin, the warmth of your body lingers in my mind as were a picture frozen in time. You stole a heart. A heart fragile from the wreckage of past loves. A heart weakened by failed promises and tainted love. I basked in the glow of your deceptive love, hungry for the crumbs that you would carelessly throw. Blinded I offered you a sacrifice of my bleeding heart, in faith that you would heal my shattered trust. Time eluded me as I journeyed toward the future with an open heart and youthful dreams but by the hands of time I was drawn viciously back to reality. Torn from the land of wishes, hopes, and dreams I laid withering, clinging to sanity for it’s all I’d left. My heart betrays me still, for I know I’ve lost faith in trust and pixie dust, I stand staring into the face of pain, yet still keep longing for Fairy tale love.
