Pam Thomas - Sweet Song

2014-11-07 3

The day of simplicity has long since gone. The childish memory of a girl I barely
know lay in a place just beyond my reach. My soul feels the aching and pain of one
that was too young to understand her task at hand, longing to leave a place in
which the mind cannot comprehend.

There lies a place in the distance that offer her solace and reprieve far from where she
lays paralyzed from the confusion of love verses’ sin. A field stretched out with its land
laid wide open like a mothers arms waiting to embrace her. In it the sweet smells of
dandelions and violets await to take her senses to a place where the stench of tobacco
and alcohol have no place.

I long to remember a time when the child was a child. A time when the nightmare
of darkness would not prevail. The sweet sound of a song would slowly bring her back to a nightmare of reality, back to a place where a song was not enough.
