Rev. Dr. A. Jacob Hassler - Episode IV: A New Haiku

2014-11-07 1

did you hear that? they've
shut down the main reactor.
no escape this time.

'tear this ship apart
until you've found those plans; bring
me the passengers! '

escape pod cargo:
mindless philosopher,
overweight blob of grease

'Owen, he can't stay;
he's much like his father' '...that's
what i'm afraid of.'

sand people startled
easily, but they come back
in greater numbers

an angel in blue
a holograph projection:
'you're my only hope'

seedy cantina
where admission might cost you
an arm (or a leg)

transport manifest:
an old man, the boy, two droids
and no questions asked

like a fairy tale
knights in white armour
rescue the princess

rather vice-versa:
she grabs a blaster; 'into
the trash chute, flyboy! '

master and student
a showdown of destiny
completes the circle

the heroes escape!
(or were they let go?) at least
the info is safe

an all out assault
snubfighters v. the empire's
huge battle station

casualties are
many. one ship remains. its
pilot hears voices.

first voice: 'Let's blow this
thing and go home! ' and then: 'Use
the force, Luke. Let go! '

direct hit! Death Star
explodes in the blinding light
of a hundred suns!

the heroes receive
medals from the princess whilst
the army looks on
