A.M. Belsey - Mandarin Oranges

2014-11-07 6

Slide your fingernail,
Into the rind,
A sudden burst of smell,
Tickles your nose.

Peeling the rind off,
Ever so slow,
See if you can do it,
In one big piece.

Dribbles of juice,
Run down your fingers,
Dividing the sections,
The smell is so sweet.

Quickly popping,
A section of fruit,
Feeling the explosion,
Inside of your mouth.

Taste buds loving,
The sweet taste of juice,
Quickly popping
Another piece of fruit.

Delightful and refreshing,
Popping piece after piece
Savor the taste,
Eating it as quick as you can
