Par kismet ne kuch aur hi dekha thaa
Kuch baaki the hisaab
Zakhm aur bhi gehra hona thaa
Naya saal kyaan le kar aaya
Ishq ki zubaan hi jal gayee
Kaapti hui yaadon ne teer chalaaya
Aur ishq ke aasoonoyon me doob gayee
Kyoon baar baar ishq me khaak hui
Woh tere naseeb mein thaa hi nahin
Kyaan khaak se bhi phool khilega koi?
Shaayad isi ummed mein baidhi rahin

I had seen some dreams
But my destiny had seen something else
It had some balance calculations
The wound had to become even deeper
What did the New Year bring?
The tongue of love got scalded
An arrow of trembling memories struck
And I drowned in the tears of love
Love turned into sheer dust again and again
It was just not not meant to be
Do flowers bloom from dust?
Still keep sitting in that hope
