All I want is to go on hating you,
But I can’t even tell anyone why.
You took something important from me,
Something from the look in his eyes.
I went looking for honest answers.
The answer was honestly you.
Even thought it shouldn’t matter,
I still just need to hate you.
This has become a game of hide and seek.
Hiding hurt, seeking consolation.
Seems to me all I’ve achieved
Is a new sense of alienation.
They think I’m the one who swooped in.
Shared something that was meant to be,
But I was never first, and that’s what hurts.
Now the person I hate is me.
