Cheryl Moore - Roses for a Child Lost

2014-11-07 0

If only you could ask me
Just how I feel right now.
I’d write this letter to you
Telling you just how.

The last time that I saw you
That smile upon your face.
Those tiny little fingers
Your gown of pure white lace.

Precious little heartbeats
That struggled to survive.
Born to live in heaven
You cannot be revived.

I knew that you had parted
As I felt your spirit fade.
I found the dark red roses
Resting where you laid.

I know you left with angels
Rugged up so very warm.
The roses said ‘I love you’
And now it’s nearly dawn.

O infant child of mine take care
And watch down over me.
I’ll bring the dark red roses
When I come home to thee.
