Baby robin dies (Haiku)
Sweet baby robin
No chance to live its short life
Hit and run by van

It was a sad situation, when I
witnessed this horrible act
against a helpless tiny animal.
I wish I had picked up the poor
wee robin and moved the helpless
bird to safer ground, but I
thought I would be doing harm
to the little robin. The mother
tried so hard to get her baby to
walk to the curb, but baby
wanted to play in the street.
If only I could have taken back
that moment. Animals are God’s
creatures and they deserve to
live just as you and I deserve to
live. I’ll never forget that day,
all I could do is stand there
and scream. The driver kept
going.
