Come walk with me
On this midnight boulevard,
I’m by myself and so afraid;
Passing headlights are few
And far between,
The streetlights are comfortless,
I’m dizzy with a sad despair obscene.
The broken glass beneath my feet
Looks like diamonds in the drunken glare,
I wish I would have bought the wedding ring,
I wish I could kiss your hair.
I’ll wind my way down to the pier,
I’ll drink to the seagulls that appear,
I’d change everything about myself
If I wasn’t so lonely and you were here.
