For every tear that I've cried,
A smile has graced my lips.
For every sob that has escaped my mouth;
So has a burst of laughter.
Every time I have fallen;
I have picked myself up.
Without these traits I would be incomplete.
After all what would the moon be without the sun?
Or night without day.
A beautiful voice without singing.
Or a beat without dancing?
It would be like life without living.
A ship without its sails,
Or a thought without any expression.
If a door closes,
I shall open another.
Plant a bulb,
And a stunning flower will grow,
Water that flower and it will be strong.
Strike a match,
Light the candle,
And let its light shine;
Sending the darkness cowering to the corners.
