Timmy Tubbs - Atlantic Drift

Atlantic Drift

I drift in the Atlantic
Frantic
Judging us harshly
Your poor smile falls and the salt burns my eyes
I forgot where we were for a while
But I know this time

I had forgotten who I was until I surfaced again
A new smile expands my veins
And is willing to take the time to walk
To listen
Even when it rains

She is in love with a man who is in love
And I bet those words fuel the games you love to play
You know the words to keep me pacing at that line you drew
You know secret words to trap your prey

How suddenly this verse turned about you
These are the last words I say
But I forgot them so quickly
As the new face returned my heart today
What was her name?
