K. Jared Hosein - (Pondering) The Nothing Poem

2014-11-07 4

I want to reach out into the sky
Of the sky of the sky
And seize the sun
From shining on the rye,
And let all the shadows
Reflect as one.

Just stop everything,
Wind down every clock,
Every tick-tock
Of boats swishing at the dock.
And let me shrink
And think
To link
Myself to this world,
Now unfurled
To a kink.

And let me stand naked in the night,
In the shadow of the dark
And all is stark
As I hark
This emptiness of fright,
And not a star,
Not from afar
Seems to be shining bright.

So give me one more breath
To sniff this bliss,
This glowing mist
Of nothingness.
And I'm lost in me,
In my world so free,
Unable to see death.
