If a poet is not inspired
Because he's very tired.
Should he become depressed
At a lack of poetic success?
Is that the thing for him to do?
Just sit there and stew.
Is there no way,
But for him to have the blues all day?
Sitting in the dark and gloom,
Having a sense of foreboding and doom.
No, I say, no.
He should pick himself up and go
To a place full of bliss and delight.
Perhaps to a park to fly a kite.
And there he will find the means
To obtain an insight so keen
As to how to write words
That are poetic, not absurd.
