sylvia spencer - Pubs that tell a story

Ever been in a pub where it tells a story
wherever it be sad or full of glory. I love the Inns of
smugglers dens and IOU notes written by quill pens.
Where a tinker, tailor or maybe a sailor would toss
coin and gamble with a whaler. On a piece of tooth he
told his tale of how he came to kill his whale.
Scrimshaw they called it, a sailors art. passed on to
love ones when their souls depart.
Inns and pubs all over the land, ones on hills
and ones on the sand, all telling their story of land
hope and glory.Inns that sell food all day and night,
just as it was in the heart of the fight. The fight being
the land our English countryside, where Inns and pubs
are dotted far and wide.
Norfolk and Suffolk and as far as kent, with an Inn owner
that was truly bent. Brandy from France you could tell
at a glance, but with the method they used the poor Brandy
was abused.
Smugglers caves along the English coast, that tell of stories
that will include a ghost.
Secret tunnels that go down to the church, where barrels of
brandy were left in the lurch.
Norfolk and Suffork the pride of the east coast, where many a
story has been told about a smuggler or may be a ghost.
