K. Jared Hosein - (Death) Into the Wind

2014-11-07 1

Do not despair, do not cry,
I am not gone,
Even though I was laid to die.
Any time you play,
Winging through the rye,
Just know,
That is me
You are flitting by.

I will not sleep, I will not rest,
You can find me
In those waters caressed,
Where the sparkles
Come and go
Like jewels slipping into
The ocean crest.

I will not sleep, I will not lay,
You can find me
Where the meadows sway,
Where the flakes
Of shuddering snow
Whisk about,
Melting away.

I will not sleep, I will not go astray,
You can find me
Even in this brand new way,
In whatever songs
The moon wrote
For the coming
Of a new day.

I will not sleep, I will be near,
You can find me
In all the faces you'll wear,
Every feeling you'll share
And the weddings you'll have,
Just north of here.

And sweethearts, I will not sleep,
You can find me
Where the sun-rays creep,
Over the seeds
Of the Tree of Life
Waiting to be reaped.

And if you ever hear a mourn,
Some sort of sadness
Sniffling to be reborn,
Do not be torn,
I will die again
Before I see you forlorn.

If you hear the wind's howl,
A muffled whimper,
Moaning out of the blue.
This is not me crying,
This is just my way of saying,
I am still here
But I miss you.
