Don't whisper sweet devotions in my ear
Don't kiss me when you're tasting someone else
Don't promise me the world then take it back
Don't tell me that I'm lovely when I'm not
I know that you're in love with someone else
I know you say the words I want to hear
I know your kiss means nothing anymore
I know the world is not your gift to give
I know my face is not the one you crave
So let's not play this silly little game
The things that mattered once are not the same
Don't keep me for your back-up when you're bored
Just let me be someone that you adored.
