A.J. McKinley - Vampire of Silence

2014-11-07 2

Some say silence is a wonderful sound, but I would have to disagree. I say silence is deafening, broodish, with a hum that is forever out of tune. The silence of my life is a vampire that forever feeds upon the strife that invariably follows the false light. Manifestations prevalent in the guise of love, and my sacred space is being choked out by deluded childish behavior that I am inept to contain. I am not even certain it is my duty to contain.

So, I sit in the silence I so loathe. The false light would steal my flames. My very essence and fire for life if I would just bend and comply. That will never be my destiny. The embers of my soul smolder and crack. Searching fervently for that one spark that will see my fire burn and consume and bring forth new life.

I am forever trapped within the very walls I long to escape. The vampire of false light suffocates me. Feed upon me no more bringer of fake hope and fervent hate. My chaos is no longer a vein from which bitterness will sustain its bleak and shallow life. Hear my silence and know it will no longer answer your call.
