Ronberge (anno secundo) - rhyme Who Not Loved, Lost and Not Longed for Another Chance?

2014-11-07 5

Who has not been enthralled by a love at first glance,
Forging in mind and in spirit a grand romance?
That fell on the way, later to wake from the trance
And let life’s pursuit put them in a twisted stance?
That has, in time, met by the many whims of chance,
An old flame deeply buried in one's remembrance?

With the days of youth gone, now prey to decadence,
And haunting memories of unfulfilled advance,
The yearning will be trapped by the day’s circumstance.
Who not wished to the fickle gods above, perchance,
For a season to rekindle the tender dance?
Who not loved, lost and not longed for another chance?
