Esra Sloblock - Broken Dream

2014-11-07 2

Taken by surprise in such a public place,
Shaken from my solace by the image of your face.
My hand held all the Jacks. Of course, you played your Ace.
My senses are in overdrive, all pulses start to race,
The distance shrinks too quickly, I start to slow my pace
Until I move no more and am rooted in this space.
Time stands still as you approach, I'm humbled by your grace.
So close that I perceive the softest touch of your embrace.
A smile. Then gone. The moment lost. This day I can't replace.
