I Am A Myriad Of Emotion
by Barbara Lynn Terry
I lie on my bed crying,
For nothing it seems,
But as I see the bright, sunny day,
I just bury my head in my shameless way,
And cry, cry, cry.
Forced by the urge to eat,
I rise from my bed,
Then stumble to my feet.
I pad off to the fridge,
For a slice of jelly bread,
While talking on the phone,
To cancel a game of bridge.
Then my baby cries and I run to see,
That she is fine just needs a change,
So I take her downstairs with me,
Relieved that that is done for now.
I seethe with anger when I see,
The mess they have left for me,
In the sink, on the table and the floor.
So I just sigh and open the door,
And then I am not so angry anymore,
As I listen to a robin's song,
While I work my female magic,
To make my house sparkle and shine,
Because tonight I will love,
The man that is mine.
