Uriah Hamilton - We Both Know Walt Whitman and Li Po

2014-11-07 24

I’m going to wind my way
To parts east
To gaze into your eyes,
Feast upon your soul,
Find your love dispersed
Like stars in the gorgeous universe,
Read poetry to you
Beneath street lights
Where an old bearded poet
Once wrote Song of Myself.

Until you and I at least speak
On wireless waves
Of distant telephones,
I’m going to feel desperately alone
In a merciless world
Devoid of charm.
