K. Jared Hosein - (Death) Final Words of a Bleeding Man on the Sidewalk

2014-11-07 3

The lippers keep lipping,
The strippers keep stripping,
Skippers keep skipping,
And the time keeps slipping.
The prayers keep praying,
The layers keep laying,
The players keep playing
And sanity keeps straying.

The honkies on Wall Street keep honking,
The donkeys in the University keep flunking
The kykes in the Hasidim keep conniving,
And the dykes in SoHo keep muffdiving.
The beggars in Manhattan keep begging,
The dregs in the sewer keep dregging
The trains in training keeps striving,
And the planes in JFK keep arriving.

The jelly doughnut still tastes the same,
They'll still serve spaghetti in the Café Daft,
The Antarctic stays as cold as it was
And the fires keep burn-burn-burning
In the mineshaft.

The rats keep ratting
And the hookers keep hooking
Fighters stay fighting
And lookers stay looking.
The drinkers keep drinking,
The thinkers keep thinking,
The winkers keep winking
And the stinkers keep stinking.

Somehow, no one helps me up
As they walk past me on the bleeding sidewalk,
They just pass their feet over me
Or just stand there needing to gawk.
And I wonder if I had an effect on anyone today,
A dying man gasping for air
To make them carpe their diem
As they try not to trip on this walkway.

But when you see it from my view,
The only thing that is keeping me alive
Is the thought that a wondrous death
Will come soon and make everything new.
