Scotty stands at the top of his apartment building,
Over the ledge that overlooks the skyline.
Jagged concrete and metal welded against
The finest cerulean marble sky-shine.
He does not bother to peer down at the street,
Cars stand-still and people obliviously walking fast
And as he leaps off the edge
An armada of doves above him sail past.
He locks his eyes upon them, they flutter high
Towards the range ahead
And a tear remains embedded in Scotty's eye
As a tint of regret is shed instead.
The free fall rustles his shirt as it bursts open
And he closes his eyes,
Already surrendered to angel blushers,
Then he falls
And bounces
Up and down,
Up and down
On a safety net just installed for the window washers.
