There are gems that glitter,
Gems that shine,
Gems that weep and smile
And gems that sing divine.
There is one that lights up during dawn,
And flames all the way through the morn,
And then drifts across the silent sky
Waiting for the slow, long day to die.
There are moon pearls on a raven night,
And ocean gems in the watery light.
Glass kingdoms hiding in clouds of grey,
And diamonds strewn across the Milky Way.
There is a burning jewel when sunset calls,
And a thousand little more after night falls,
And none, not even the rubies in fireflies,
Can compare to those emeralds
Of yours, Miss Pretty Green Eyes.
