A green light,
A Saturday morning,
A bouncing ball,
A tired driver yawning.
A sleepy neighbourhood,
An empty street,
A wandering red ball,
A child's stumbling feet.
A long night at the office,
A long wait 'til sleep,
A long foot on the brake,
A long resounding beeeee-eeeee-eeeeeeeeep.
A child lying on the street,
A shoe on the walkway rust,
A man too afraid to look back
And a rising trail of dust.
