After the bomb blows
And the world is blown in utter shambles.
There'll just be the snows,
No argument-pass-the-time rambles.
After frogs fall from the skies
And the world is in ruins,
Gone will be the why's
And all we once thought
Were shoo-ins.
After these deemed-stupid-horrible times,
After locusts swarm the field,
We won't remember the crimes,
Or broken dreams not healed.
Instead, we'll sit around a fire,
And watch the flames rise,
Burning all of that in a pyre,
And remember a time once wise
When everyone was honest
And all the children were sweet
When dreams came true
And we could accomplish any feat.
Yes, the fires will burn,
And we'll admire the sheen,
And people will write books,
Making a fortune,
On how things could've been.
