John Kipling Lewis - Smile inside.

2014-11-07 2

There's a smile inside
I can find it when I'm alone
in a cafe when it rains.

When I pratfall and no one notices.

It's a wonderful new place unexplored
or the flaw in an ancient vase.

I catch it in the mirror.
It's a face I can't practice.

It's not full of fear
or double thought.
It's the fresh path that leads
to new stimulus.

And I don't mind being alone.
