I was wondering how good a carpenter Jesus was.
Do we just assume that because he was God’s son
he could run rings around other carpenters?
I mean, was he literally God’s gift to carpentry?
Or did he have trouble with tongue-and-groove
constructions and hardwood flooring?
I wouldn’t begrudge him if he was a bit of a klutz.
It’s difficult work.
You know that scene in the movie “Witness” where
everyone’s building that barn? Well, do you think
Jesus would have joined in or would he have
done something else?
Not that he’d be a slacker.
But maybe he just felt more comfortable
helping the women serve lemonade.
You can’t really blame him.
Carpentry isn’t for everyone.
And that was back
before there were electric belt sanders.
He probably got tired of sanding.
