Arsiema Berhane - Sitting in a Railway Station

2014-11-07 3

I don’t know why-
we are too blind to see
and appreciate
what’s ours
and miss it when it’s all gone.
I don’t know why I left
home in the first place.
But then may be I was eager
to follow my dreams,
wanted a better life.

I have been here and there,
strange places, beautiful places,
places I remember
so well, but now too lost to care.
And it’s funny but I always missed home.
It’s been long, far too long
since I last saw you. I don’t know
why I never came home. It’s so sad but now
I just hope I’m not too late.

Now here I am at the station
trying and trying to find
some desperate justification
for being away so long
and I really hate to find myself coming
to you only now when you're dying.
