Professor Poetry Hound - God Is My Co-pilot, Revisited

2014-11-07 44

You know that book, “God Is My Copilot? ”
Well, I was wondering what if it were true? I
mean, suppose Jesus was actually an airline
pilot instead of a carpenter? (I'm substituting
Jesus for God in this case) What kind of
pilot would he be?

Yes, I'm sure he'd be very competent. But
what I mean is, would he communicate with
the passengers and inform them of delays,
apologize for turbulence, and point out stuff
like 'Off to your left is a great view of Las
Vegas” and that kind of thing? Or would he
be quiet and non-communicative and just
say the minimum?

I actually think he would be the silent type.
He'd probably feel that, hell, the important
thing is he got you to your destination
safely, and all the chit chat is just
unnecessary fluff. But the thing he's
forgetting is that if it hadn't been him flying
the plane, there would have been someone
else in his spot and no one would know the
difference. No one would know Jesus was
in the cockpit. So he’d better get on that PA
next time and make an impression.
